🎯 Lesson Goal

In this lesson, you will learn how to give simple advice in English. You will see easy sentences and practice giving advice to others.

Dans cette leçon, vous apprendrez à donner de simples conseils en anglais. Vous verrez des phrases faciles et vous pratiquerez à donner des conseils aux autres.

🧠 Grammar Focus

Giving advice uses the words ‘should’ and ‘should not’. Use ‘should’ to tell someone a good idea. Use ‘should not’ to tell someone a bad idea. The sentence usually starts with ‘You should’ or ‘You should not’. The base verb comes after ‘should’. For example: You should drink water. You should not eat too much. Do not forget: after ‘should’ always use the base verb form. Say ‘You should go’, not ‘You should goes’. Very simple: should + verb means good advice. Should not + verb means bad advice. Try: You should read books.

Pour donner un conseil, on utilise ‘should’ et ‘should not’. ‘Should’ indique une bonne idée, ‘should not’ une mauvaise idée. La phrase commence souvent par ‘You should’ ou ‘You should not’. Le verbe est à la forme de base après ‘should’. Par exemple, ‘You should drink water’ indique un bon conseil.
