We use ‘can’t’ to say you do not have permission. ‘Can’t’ means ‘not allowed’. Use ‘can’t’ before the base form of a verb. For example, ‘You can’t smoke here.’ The sentence order is: Subject + can’t + verb. ‘Can’t’ is short for ‘cannot’. Remember: do not put ‘to’ after ‘can’t’. For example, say ‘can’t go’, not ‘can’t to go’. Here are some examples: I can’t swim. You can’t park here. He can’t use the phone. We can’t eat in class. They can’t enter the room.
