🎯 Lesson Goal

Learn about countable nouns. Learn how to talk about things you can count.

Apprenez les noms dénombrables. Apprenez à parler des choses que vous pouvez compter.

🧠 Grammar Focus

Countable nouns are things you can count one, two, three, and more. We use ‘a’ or ‘an’ before one countable noun. We add ‘s’ or ‘es’ to make nouns plural for more than one. For example, one apple, two apples. We say, ‘There is a chair’ for one chair. We say, ‘There are three chairs’ for many chairs. Countable nouns have singular and plural forms. A common mistake is to forget the ‘s’ in plurals. Use countable nouns when you can count things one by one.

Les noms dénombrables sont des choses que vous pouvez compter un, deux, trois, etc. On utilise ‘a’ ou ‘an’ devant un nom dénombrable singulier. On ajoute ‘s’ ou ‘es’ pour former le pluriel. Par exemple, one apple, two apples. On dit ‘There is a chair’ pour une chaise et ‘There are three chairs’ pour plusieurs chaises. Les noms dénombrables ont une forme singulière et une forme plurielle. Une erreur fréquente est d’oublier le ‘s’ au pluriel. Utilisez les noms dénombrables pour compter les choses une par une.
