🧠 Grammar Focus
Must shows something you have to do. Mustn’t shows something you cannot do. Use must + base verb to say rules or strong advice. Use mustn’t + base verb to say prohibition. Example: You must wash your hands. You mustn’t smoke here. Do not use ‘do’ with must or mustn’t. Common mistake: do not say ‘must not to’.
Must indique une obligation, quelque chose que vous devez faire. Mustn’t indique une interdiction, quelque chose que vous ne pouvez pas faire. Utilisez must + verbe à l’infinitif pour parler de règles ou de conseils forts. Utilisez mustn’t + verbe à l’infinitif pour dire qu’une action est interdite. Exemple : You must wash your hands. You mustn’t smoke here. Ne pas utiliser ‘do’ avec must ou mustn’t. Erreur fréquente : ne pas dire ‘must not to’.
