📝 Daily Practice
🎯 Lesson Goal
In this lesson, you will learn how to use ‘as … as’ to make comparisons between two things or people. You will practise reading, writing, and exercises to understand this grammar better.
🧠 Grammar Focus
We use ‘as … as’ to say that two things or people are equal in some way. This comparison shows that one is not more or less than the other. Use ‘as + adjective + as’ to form these sentences. For example, ‘My car is as fast as your car.’ We often use this when we want to say two things have the same quality. Sometimes, we use it to compare abilities, size, or feelings. Here are examples: She is as tall as her brother. This cake is as good as that one. The test was as easy as I thought. My house is not as big as yours.
📖 Short Reading
Anna and her friend Max are talking about their pets. Anna says, "My dog is as friendly as your dog." Max smiles and says, "Yes, they are both very kind animals." Anna also says, "Your cat is as small as my cat." Max agrees. They like to compare their pets because they think both animals are nice and calm. At the park, Anna says, "Max runs as fast as I do." Max laughs and says, "We can race again tomorrow!" Both friends are happy because they think they are equal in many ways.
