🎯 Lesson Goal

Learn common irregular verbs in the past simple tense and use them in everyday situations.

🧠 Grammar Focus

We use irregular verbs to talk about actions that happened in the past. These verbs do not follow regular rules (they don’t just add -ed). We use them to say what someone did yesterday, last week, or before. The past form is different for each irregular verb. For example, ‘go’ changes to ‘went’, and ‘have’ changes to ‘had’. Use them to tell stories, say what happened, or talk about past events. The structure is: Subject + irregular verb (past). Examples: I went to the park. She had a big dinner. They saw a movie. We took a taxi home. He made a cake.

📖 Short Reading

Last Sunday, Anna went to the market early in the morning. She saw many fresh fruits and vegetables. She bought some apples and took them home. Then, she made a cake for her family. Her brother had a good time eating it. After that, they went to the park and sat under a big tree. Anna told her friends what she did all day. They liked her story and asked many questions.
