📝 Daily Practice
🎯 Lesson Goal
In this lesson, you will learn simple prepositions of time. You will see how to use ‘in’, ‘on’, and ‘at’ with time words. You will practice reading, writing, and exercises about time prepositions.
🧠 Grammar Focus
Prepositions of time tell us when something happens. We use ‘in’ for months, years, and parts of the day. We say ‘in April’, ‘in 2020’, and ‘in the morning’. We use ‘on’ for days and dates. Examples are ‘on Monday’ and ‘on April 5’. We use ‘at’ for exact times and holidays without ‘day’. For example, ‘at 7 o’clock’ and ‘at Christmas’. The sentence form is: subject + verb + preposition + time. Beginner mistake: do not use ‘in’ with days, like say ‘on Monday’ not ‘in Monday’. Examples: I eat lunch at 12 o’clock. She goes to school on Tuesday. We have a holiday in July. He sleeps in the morning. It starts at midnight.
