🎯 Lesson Goal
Objetivo de la lección

In this lesson, you will learn how to use the prepositions ‘under’ and ‘over’. You will see how to say where things are using these words.

En esta lección, aprenderás a usar las preposiciones ‘under’ y ‘over’. Verás cómo decir dónde están las cosas usando estas palabras.

🧠 Grammar Focus
Enfoque gramatical

We use ‘under’ to say something is below or beneath something else. We use ‘over’ to say something is above or higher than something else. The sentence often goes: ‘The object is under/over the thing.’ For example, ‘The cat is under the table.’ or ‘The lamp is over the desk.’ Both words show where things are. Be careful: we do not use ‘under’ or ‘over’ for time here. Remember, the preposition comes before the thing. Examples: 1. The ball is under the chair. 2. The bird flies over the tree. 3. The shoes are under the bed. 4. The clock is over the door.

Usamos ‘under’ para decir que algo está debajo o bajo otra cosa. Usamos ‘over’ para decir que algo está encima o más alto que otra cosa. La oración suele ser: ‘The object is under/over the thing.’ Por ejemplo, ‘The cat is under the table.’ o ‘The lamp is over the desk.’ Ambas palabras indican dónde están las cosas. Atención: no usamos ‘under’ ni ‘over’ para tiempo aquí. Recuerda que la preposición va delante de la cosa. Los ejemplos muestran estas ideas.
