🔍 See It in Context

Making Weekend Plans

Ben asks if the museum is open on Sunday. Mia says, ‘I think so, but I’m not sure.’ They talk about going by bus. Ben says it will probably be busy. Maybe they can go early. When Mia asks if they should walk instead, Ben answers, ‘It depends on the weather.’

💡 Notice the Pattern

Expressing certainty and uncertainty

Use I think so for a likely yes, I don’t think so for a likely no, maybe for possibility, probably for something likely, I’m not sure for uncertainty and it depends when the answer changes with the situation.

  • Will she come? I think so.
  • Maybe we can meet later.

💬 Useful Examples

  • I don’t think so.
  • It will probably rain.
