Finding Information in Town

Ben is visiting a new town. He asks the name of the hotel and writes down the address of the building. In a shop, he checks the price of a jacket. At the beginning of the afternoon, he walks to the town centre. He meets a friend in the middle of the square, and at the end of the day they have dinner together.

💡 Notice the Pattern

Using noun + of phrases

We often use of after nouns such as price, name, address, beginning, end and middle. The phrase tells us what the noun belongs to or refers to: the price of the ticket, the name of the street, the end of the day.

  • What is the name of the hotel?
  • We meet at the end of the day.
