📝 Daily Practice
🎯 Lesson Goal
In this lesson, you will learn how to use modal verbs to talk about solving everyday problems. You will practice expressing possibility, advice, and obligation when dealing with common situations at work, home, or while traveling.
🧠 Grammar Focus
Modal verbs like must, should, and can help us talk about problems and find solutions. We use must to show obligation or strong advice. Should is for giving advice or recommendations. Can is for possibility or ability. For example, if you lose your keys, you can check your bag first. If you feel sick, you should see a doctor. If there is a fire, you must leave the building immediately. Modal verbs are followed by a base verb, for example, must call, should check, can fix. These words help us communicate clearly about what to do in difficult situations.
📖 Short Reading
Last week, Maria faced some problems at work. She forgot her laptop charger, so she couldn’t use her computer. She knew she must solve this quickly. She called IT support and they said she should buy a new charger or borrow one from a colleague. Maria decided she can borrow a charger from her friend for one day. Later, she found out she must send an important report the same day, so she should work at home after borrowing the charger. In the end, Maria solved her problems by asking for help and planning her time well.
