🎯 Lesson Goal
Learn how to talk about future plans and arrangements using different future forms. Practice making sentences about meetings, travel, and other common plans.
🧠 Grammar Focus
We use future forms to talk about plans or arrangements made before the moment of speaking. This often means we have decided and fixed a time or place. Common forms are ‘be going to’ + verb and the present continuous. For example, you can say, ‘I am meeting my friend tomorrow,’ or ‘She is going to visit London next week.’ We use the present continuous to show personal plans with specific times, and ‘be going to’ to show intentions or planned actions. Sometimes, the simple future ‘will’ is used for decisions made at the moment or promises, but for arrangements, present continuous and ‘be going to’ are more common. Use words like ‘tomorrow,’ ‘next week,’ or a time to give clear plans.
