In this lesson, you will learn the basic question words in English. You will know when and how to use them in simple sentences.

🥠 Grammar Focus
Question words are used to ask for information. We use words like Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How. They start a question. The question word goes at the beginning of a question. After the question word, we usually use a verb. For example, ‘Where is your book?’ We use Who to ask about people. We use What to ask about things. Be careful: do not forget to add a question mark at the end of the question. Here are examples: Who is she? What is this? Where do you live? When is the party? Why are you happy? How do you make tea?
Palavras de pergunta são usadas para pedir informação. Usamos palavras como Who, What, Where, When, Why e How. Elas começam uma pergunta, ficando no início. Após a palavra de pergunta, geralmente usamos um verbo. Por exemplo, ‘Where is your book?’. Usamos Who para perguntar sobre pessoas e What para coisas.
