Foco gramatical
We use ‘is’ for one place. We use ‘are’ for more than one place. The sentence structure is: Place + is / are + description. Use ‘is’ with one thing or one place. Use ‘are’ with more things or places. Remember, do not use ‘is’ with plural words. For example, ‘The park is big.’ ‘The shops are small.’ ‘My house is near the school.’ ‘The cities are far.’
Usamos “is” para um lugar. Usamos “are” para mais de um lugar. A estrutura da frase é: Lugar + is / are + descrição. Use “is” com uma coisa ou um lugar só. Use “are” com mais coisas ou lugares. Lembre-se, não use “is” com palavras no plural.
