🧠 Grammar Focus
Foco gramatical
Comparisons use special words to show differences. We add -er to short adjectives. For example, ‘big’ becomes ‘bigger’. We use ‘than’ after the comparison word. The sentence is: subject + verb + adjective + er + than + object. Example: My bag is bigger than your bag. For words with two or more syllables, we use ‘more’. Example: This book is more interesting than that book. Do not say ‘more bigger’. Use only ‘bigger’.
As comparações usam palavras especiais para mostrar diferenças. Acrescentamos -er em adjetivos curtos. Por exemplo, ‘big’ vira ‘bigger’. Usamos ‘than’ depois da palavra de comparação. A frase é: sujeito + verbo + adjetivo + er + than + objeto. Para palavras com duas ou mais sílabas, usamos ‘more’. Por exemplo: This book is more interesting than that book. Não diga ‘more bigger’. Use só ‘bigger’.
