Grammatik im Fokus

We use ‘is’ and ‘are’ to say what things are like. ‘Is’ is for one thing. ‘Are’ is for many things. Use ‘is’ with singular nouns. Use ‘are’ with plural nouns. The basic sentence is: This is a/an + object. Or These are + objects. Do not say ‘This are’ or ‘These is’. Examples: The bag is small. The pens are blue. This is a book. These are books.
