💬 Travel dialogue
🧳 Hello, I’d like to confirm if I need a visa for a six-day stay.
👮 May I see your passport and your flight details, please?
🧳 Sure, here is my passport. My flight is a round trip from London to New York.
👮 Entry requirements depend on your nationality, passport, and purpose of travel. Let me check the current rules for your trip.
🧳 That’s helpful to know. But I heard there might be extra entry requirements due to recent changes. Could you clarify those?
👮 For this type of trip, you may need an electronic travel authorization before departure, so you should confirm the current requirement on the official government website.
🧳 I wasn’t aware of that. Is it still possible to apply at the airport on arrival, or must it be done beforehand?
👮 If an electronic authorization is required, apply online before travelling and allow enough time for processing.
🧳 I see. What are the consequences if a traveler arrives without this authorization?
👮 Without the required authorization, a traveller may be unable to board or enter, so it is important to confirm the rules before departure.
🧳 That makes sense. If I apply online now, how long does the approval process usually take?
👮 Processing times can vary, so apply as early as possible and check the current official guidance.
🧳 Thank you for this detailed explanation. Could you recommend any reliable website for the application?
👮 Yes, please use the official government travel website. Avoid third-party sites to prevent extra charges or delays.
🧳 Understood, I’ll apply there immediately. Just to confirm, my current passport is valid for six months. Is that sufficient?
👮 Passport-validity requirements vary by destination and nationality, so check the current official rule for your passport.
🧳 Great. So, once I have the electronic authorization, is entry guaranteed?
👮 Not necessarily. An authorization does not always guarantee entry; border officials may still check your documents and circumstances. Keep any required confirmation available when you travel.
🧳 Thank you very much for your help and clear information.
